Abstract: In this talk, first we will give a short survey about some canonical constructions of Anosov flows on 3-manifolds. Then we introduce our constructions: building Anosov flows by gluing hyperbolic plugs. Notice that the 3-manifolds construced in this way is toroidal. Finally, we talk about how to mix our construction with Dehn-Goodman surgery to build some intersting Anosov flows on some atoroidal (in particular, hyperbolic) 3-manifolds.
