Fractional Calculus: History, applications and further directions

Abstract

Due to the many advantages of fractional calculus it is observed that in the last decades fractional calculus became an area of intensive research and development. The main advantage of using fractional calculus in mathematical modeling is that it defines all the nonlocal properties, including the current state and all the previous physical or dynamical states. In this context, this talk will cover the historical back ground of fractional calculus, pioneers of fractional calculus and the importance of fractional calculus in the since and engineering.
